Jim and Maria have also partnered with their local Pet Helpers Organization.   Pet Helpers is dedicated to ending the pet overpopulation problem in the Lowcountry through their efforts in education, adoption, and emphasis on early spaying and neutering!  Their goal is to become a "no more homeless pets" community.   They're also a "no kill" shelter, which means that no animal is ever put to sleep for lack of space or for a treatable condition. Most "no-kills" are private shelters that take in only as many animals as they can adopt out.  Once the animal is accepted, vaccines are given, diagnotics run, and the animal is spayed or neutered.
